Every fundraiser on MyTeamPledge is created and owned by a team or organization. That team or organization is the fundraiser and the financial beneficiary of all contributions. Payments are processed through our payment providers and paid out only to the authorized connected account of the team or organization that created the fundraiser.
Players, coaches, and other team participants are fundraising attribution points, not financial accounts. A participant's page and fundraising totals show the amount of support generated through that participant for the team's fundraiser. Participant attribution never creates personal ownership of fundraiser proceeds: there are no participant wallets, balances, or payouts.
Sponsoring a numbered object (for example, Ball #50 for $50) is a contribution to the team's fundraiser, attributed to the participant whose board the number appears on. If a number is already sponsored, a supporter may still give the same amount through that participant — it is recorded as an open contribution and does not fill another number or change board completion.
Supporters may contribute to the overall team without selecting a participant. These contributions appear as Team Support and are never artificially assigned to an individual.
MyTeamPledge charges a platform fee of 3% of the intended contribution. Standard U.S. online card processing is typically 2.9% + $0.30 per successful transaction through Stripe. Actual processing fees may vary based on payment method, card type, international cards, currency conversion, or other Stripe pricing factors. There is no setup fee, no monthly fee, and no contracts. The exact fee calculation for each contribution is disclosed to supporters at checkout, where they may optionally choose to cover processing fees.
When a participant leaves a team, their historical fundraising record is preserved — the support they generated remains credited to them and remains part of the team's Total Raised. Their page can be closed to new contributions. A departure does not transfer, subtract, refund, or pay out any funds, and does not change historical donor attribution.
The team or organization is responsible for the internal allocation and use of fundraiser proceeds, consistent with the fundraiser's stated purpose, its representations to supporters, and applicable law. MyTeamPledge records who generated support; it does not create individual financial ownership of proceeds.
Fundraiser cancellations, excess funds, and refunds are handled under our Refund Policy. A participant leaving a team never automatically triggers a refund of contributions attributed through them.
Organizers must be authorized to fundraise on behalf of their team or organization, describe their fundraiser accurately, use funds consistently with the stated purpose, and comply with applicable law. Misrepresentation, fraud, and misuse of the platform are prohibited and may result in suspension under the Terms of Service.
If you have concerns about a fundraiser's representations or use of funds, contact the organizer first, then contact MyTeamPledge through the details in our Terms of Service.
